9 Argue your case with your neighbor himself, and do not reveal another's secret, 10 lest he who hears you bring shame upon you, and your ill repute have no end.
6 Don't work yourself into the spotlight;
don't push your way into the place of prominence.
7 It's better to be promoted to a place of honor
than face humiliation by being demoted.
30-34 I passed by the field of a lazy person,
by the vineyard of someone with no sense;
thorns had come up everywhere,
the ground was covered with weeds,
and the stone wall was in ruins.
I applied my heart to what I observed
and learned a lesson from what I saw:
A little sleep, a little slumber,
a little folding of the hands to rest—
and poverty will come on you like a thief
and scarcity like an armed man.
